The formation of natural stones occurs through geological processes that last millions of years in the earth's crust. These processes include the formation of magmatic , metamorphic and sedimentary stones.
- Igneous Stage : When magma cools and crystallizes, rocks such as granite and basalt are formed.
- Sedimentary Stage : Sedimentary rocks and minerals accumulate under the influence of water and wind and form stones such as limestone .
- Metamorphic Stage : Existing stones change under high pressure and temperature and turn into metamorphic stones such as marble and schist .
These stages determine the mineral structure, color and durability of the stones.
